T-Rex Promotions next show featuring arguably the best welterweight in the region, Laase, looks to again pack Wessman Arena in Superior WI, July 21, with a card packed with some of the regions best talent and local fighters. No gimmicks, promotional belts, or trophies here, just great boxing action……

Laase (8,1), Lee (6,1) and Mohammed Kayongo (15,2) would be considered by most in the region as best at welter. Jamal James (5,0) is also right in the mix…..
With all due respect to Laase but Orozco beat him once and the rematch on the internet looked like a draw. Kayongo is retired until something changes and Lee is a 135 pound lightweight. Belts have to start somewhere as long as they defend it against the other guy then who really cares. How you think Jason Litzau feels when he see Wilton and Mclaren fighting for the lightweight belt!
I wouldnt compare Laase to Jason Litzau just yet, lol. Jason is (28,3). Most thought RJ won a UD, but we all see things different. I do know watching a fight over a stream is no where near watching on tv or better yet live. Lee should fight at 130, but has chosen and still chooses to get over 140, talked to Kayongo the other day, he has never retired…
Lastly, promotions can add a belt to every fight if they choose…. Every fight Ive been involved in Ive been offered this or that belt to promote. But state titles must come from state commission. At any rate youre the first person Ive heard say (5,0) vs (5,11) in a weight class with at least four guys with better records is worthy of a state title. But again, we all have opinions, and mine strongly differs with yours. Thanks for your input though…
i thought rj won both fights the split desision was close but at home i though rj deserved at least a draw. the second fight rj won all but maybe one round. why not just make every fight for a belt ha
The first could have gone either way, I dont think anyone could be angry with Hector getting the split…. Again, I thought the UD victory in the second fight was warranted, but Hector was tough and did get a round or two….
Justin, I just posted what boxing historian and MN Boxing Hall of Fame president had to say about these very fights….
